August 15th!

The main thing you get for your dues is Infrastructure...

the RECHARGE!!! camp has collected a ton of stuff to use on the playa over the last six years, and it is all stored in a storage space in Gerlach.

Your dues will get:  a 16 X 32 foot dome, with a green parachute:  ask anybody who's been in it, the dome kicks ass:  cool in the daytime, warm at night, it's a great place to party, eat, sleep, wrestle, sit out a vicious dust storm, sit out the rain, listen to music, dance, throw shit, and assorted other shelter-requiring duties.

In the dome there is enough carpet to cover the dirt, and about 6 or 7 couches that are comfy and dusty.  There are also cocktail tables, beanbags, lights, and other furniture.

We have five big cafeteria style folding tables which we use in the dome for stuff, and also in the kitchen.

We also have a generator that runs all the electric for the camp, day and night.

We also have a lot of kitchen stuff (shelving, dishwash bins, etc.)

We also have a good relationship with the Bmorg.

We also have a lot of other usable stuff in the storage space (parts of a bar, saloon doors, trash cans, bowling ball, etc.)

The stuff that costs money for the camp is:  renting a uhaul, renting a ladder and a genie lift to assemble the dome (makes it much easier and safer and faster to do);  renting a storage space for the year to keep the stuff in;  gas and upkeep for the generator; assorted hardware.

In the past we have always reimbursed people for money spent doing group projects (like the shower/outhouse, shack assembly, decorations, etc.)

All decent size camps have dues, and ours are actually fairly low.  The biggest thing that ruins people's time at BM is money-shit, so we just collect it up front, and then forget about it.

Hopefully this answers your questions!!

Now send in those due!!!!

Also! This year we have a good group of enthusiastic people who have already volunteered to do dome building, infrastructure and other crappy work no one else wants to do (Big Thanks to Shiela, Ken, Brendan, Don, DeWayne, Randall, Jonathan, rAVE dAVE and me! ... anyone I'm missing?). This camp will be semi-hands off in that you will not be expected to do major work, but of course, we still hope that you will do the standard 2 hours of MOOP patrol requested by burning man as well as participate in keeping our camp clean and fun!

What about Food?

One question that comes up often is, will I be fed? or are there camp meals? Generally, camp meals turn out to be dissappointing to more people than are satisfied. Not everyone eats/likes the same food and people dont always eat at the same time. Raising camp dues to provide food is not something we would like to do.

This year we are going to try to find a couple people who would volunteer to make some camp food for a couple nights. Something simple like soup or spaghetti or something like that.

But ... in general, we are not going to attempt to feed the camp each night.
