CAMP UPDATE

VERY IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ ALL POINTS.

 

  1. CAMP STORAGE UNLOADING.
    1. We will be arriving at the Empire storage space at 1pm on Saturday. We need as many people as possible there at 1pm to help unload the storage space in to the truck. Please send me an email to let me know if you can be there to help out.
    2. I need 1 volunteer to be the storage space leader. You will need to get there around 12:30 to get the keys to storage and to be around in case the truck comes late etc. You will also be there to collect people as they show up and let them know any schedule changes etc.
  2. DOME BUILDING
    1. We will be building the dome Saturday, right after we arrive at the playa, around 4pm. EVERYONE IN CAMP AT THAT TIME MUST HELP BUILD THE DOME.
    2. The dome should be built before personal tents etc go up.
    3. The more people we have to help build the dome, the faster it will go up. This dome can be built in 1 hour with enough people.
    4. We are pushing to build the dome ASAP because it is the most difficult structure in camp to build. Also, when it is done, we will have a place for shelter and rest, which will go a long way towards getting our other projects done! Everything else will be much easier once you have a home :)
  3. CAMP GARBAGE RULES
    1. DO NOT GENERATE GARBAGE! Ideally, you will put NOTHING except recycling in the garbage. In reality, each person should take out thier own personal garbage.
    2. We do have camp garbage. Last year we generated about 30 bags of garbage. This year, we could generate 70-80 bags! This is a lot of garbage, please be responsible and try to reduce this amount.
    3. Do NOT put food in the garbage. There are no services at bman. If you put food in the garbage on Monday, it will sit in the heat and fester the whole week. Then someone is going to have to pick that up and take it in thier car to the dump.
  4. CAMP RESPONSIBILITY (we have a huge camp this year so this stuff is REALLY important this year)
    1. Clean up behind yourself. Do not leave garbage out. For example, if you open a bag of chips, you must take it with you. Don't leave it out for other people to eat because it will just turn in to garbage
    2. Do not bring glass. This is difficult to dispose of. If you do bring glass, do NOT put it in the garbage but instead take it home with you.
    3. Keep the kitchen clean!
    4. No drug use in public
    5. ABSOLUTELY NO DRUG DEALING IN CAMP .... EVER.
    6. Be respectful of others.
    7. Let people have fun, relax a little (ie don't get too upset if you hear a bull-horn at 4am, it's burning man!)
    8. Everyone should participate and contribute.
